"Behind the Sauce"

You may feel like you're not the best cook in the world, but as Darrel Goodman, founder and president of Goodman Foods says, "A great sauce makes a great cook!" After 20 years in restaurant management, Darrel knew even the finest quality dish could be ruined without a good sauce.

An avid home gardener for many years, the summer of 1995 provided a bumper crop of tomatoes and habanero peppers. Given limited storage space and a love for grilling and hot things, Darrel began developing his original barbeque sauce recipe.

Refined over 6 years, he shared his sauce with all his friends and family. Many said, "Darrel, quit keeping this sauce to yourself - share this with the world!" So in 2001, Darrel formed Goodman Foods and began providing his sauce to the public.

Today's original barbeque sauce is a unique blend of tomatoes, brown sugar, habanero peppers, and spices. The sauce is sweet, but has the full flavor or habanero peppers. Yet it is mild enough for even the most discriminating taste buds!

Expanding into other Goodman family favorites, veggie medley, spicy salsa, and even barbeque candy will be available in the near future. Check back soon for an update.
